Este Parque Rural contiene un paisaje de una belleza excepcional, en él están presentes varios sectores naturales, lugares de gran interés cultural y áreas agrícolas.
En el Parque Rural de Doramas están localizadas algunas cabeceras de barrancos importantes, así como otros elementos que dan más interés a la estructura geomorfológica del parque.
El Parque cuenta con una superficie de 3586 hectáreas, repartidas entre los municipios de Santa María de Guía, Moya, Firgas, Valleseco, Arucas y Teror.
Este parque rural contiene un papel muy importante en la recarga de acuíferos de Gran Canaria, especialmente en las cumbres más altas ya qie habitualmente son afectadas por la niebla.
Dentro del Parque Rural de Doramas están situadas las Reservas Naturales de Barranco Oscuro, los Tiles de Moya y Azuaje, los cuales aportan un mayor interés científico ya que son unos bueno núcleos relícticos de laurisilva.
