Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno

The Atlantic Center of Modern Art, dependent on the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, was inaugurated on December 4, 1989, in the municipality of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

His field of study and analysis focuses on creative processes of the 20th century, with special dedication to the interpretation of the historical avant-gardes and the most current manifestations of art. From its first programmatic text, it already expressed its firm will to unite 2 lines of institutional action in the cultural life of Canarian society: that of becoming an Art Center and, at the same time, becoming a Museum of Contemporary Art.

At the same time, it maintains a continuous line of temporary exhibitions, alone or in collaboration with the main art centers of the world, which include essential trends and artists of 20th century art.

At the same time, he creates his own collection with artistic collections from the Canary Islands, as well as from renowned Spanish and international creators. Programming of courses, conferences and seminars parallel to each exhibition.
