San Cristóbal de La Laguna, conocida popularmente como La Laguna, es un municipio del noreste de la Isla de Tenerife. Es el tercer municipio más poblado de Canarias y el segundo de la isla de Tenerife con 152.222 habitantes. Se encuentra junto a la ciudad de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, con la que se encuentra física y urbanísticamente unida por completo.
San Cristóbal de La Laguna, declarada en 1999 Bien Cultural y Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, mantiene en un excelente grado de conservación su casco histórico de gran valor. Las calles del centro de La Laguna se hallan sembradas no sólo de importantes monumentos y edificios históricos, sino que es, además, un importante centro de actividad comercial.
La Laguna ha sido considerada desde siempre como el centro intelectual de Canarias y la capital cultural del archipiélago. La ciudad también es conocida como "La Ciudad de los Adelantados" o "La Ciudad de Aguere".
