El Valle de la Orotava está situado en el norte de la isla de Tenerife, en él se encuentran los municipios de La Orotava, Los Realejos y el Puerto de la Cruz.
Este valle en la época de los guanches era conocido como Taoro, y precisamente aquí terminó la conquista de Tenerife el 25 de julio de 1496 con la llamada Paz de Los Realejos, erigiéndose, con tal motivo, en honor al patrón de España, el primer templo cristiano de la isla de Tenerife, la Parroquia Matriz del Apóstol Santiago.
La Villa de la Orotava conserva un casco antiguo perfectamente delimitado, que cuenta con la declaración de Conjunto Histórico-artístico. En sus calles cuajadas de edificios de interés, se concentran obras dignas de ser admiradas, tales como la Ermita del Calvario, la Iglesia de San Agustín, la Plaza de la Constitución, la calle Carrera del Escultor Estévez, la iglesia de Santo Domingo o el ex convento de San Benito Abad, entre otros.
